About
TRIX is the percent rate of change of a triple-smoothed EMA. The extra smoothing is meant to ignore small noise. The line oscillates around zero, with a signal line for crosses.
TRIX above zero is upward momentum after that smoothing. Below zero is downward. Signal-line crosses are the usual timing. Because it is triple-smoothed, turns arrive later than RSI or MACD.
Use TRIX in a mix when you want fewer, slower momentum turns. Pair the signal-line cross with a trend or volume filter if you still see too many flips in a range.
