About
The Awesome Oscillator is the difference between a fast and a slow SMA of median price, shown as a histogram. Color and zero-line crosses are the usual reads.
A cross up through zero is a momentum shift toward the upside. A cross down is the opposite. Histogram color changes can mark a shorter-term fade before the zero line is reached.
Add AO to a mix as a momentum timing layer on a moving-average or breakout rule. Twin peaks or saucer patterns are optional extra conditions, not required for a first mix.
